Safety

Online Safety training requirements often depend on a variety of factors including the industry, work site, task performed, and job title. These internet-based safety training courses will help your employees stay up-to-date on everything from electrical, confined space, and ground disturbance protocols to chemical, biological, and physical hazards including appropriate preparation, planning, and PPE.

Driving

Included in the central library are many courses applicable to anyone who spends significant time in the driver’s seat. Courses in this subject area cover advanced defensive driving techniques and strategies, safe backing procedures, fatigue and stress management, winter and distracted driving, as well as hours of service and weights and dimensions regulations.

Equipment

Ensuring that everyone in your company knows how to stay safe when working with or around equipment is extremely important.   • PDIC Condensed Defensive Driving Program
  • Standard First Aid, including the version with CPR & AED

Course topics that help meet federal requirements and/or legislative standards:

  • Cargo securement, trip inspections, and weights and dimensions (Alberta Regulation 314/2002, Alberta Traffic Safety Act, and Commercial Vehicle Certificate and Insurance Regulation)
  • Electrical safety (CSA Z462 standards)

Qualify for Continuing Education Credits from the Engineering Institute (with the exception of Arc Flash Awareness):

  • Hours of service, both federal and provincial (Alberta)
  • TDG (Part 6 of Transport Canada’s TDG regulations)WHMIS (Health Canada’s WHMIS regulations)
  • WHMIS 2015 (GHS)

Course audited and/or endorsed by independent industry bodies:

  • Ground Disturbance for Supervisors 201 (Alberta Common Ground Alliance (ABCGA))
